Our wonderful State cinema was a very long labor of love...... Hundreds of dedicated hours have gone into making the State “State of Art." With my good friend Simon Stent from Home & Vision, we spent thousands of hours perfecting image, sound and the very special environment. The magic we created brings alive the look and feel of cinema the way it used to be, and the way you remember. The romance returns to cinema the moment you step inside the doors of the State!

Relax and enjoy a superb private setting in a traditional Devonport Villa with tropical gardens and resort-like surroundings. Our private home and cinema is situated just an easy 12 minute level walk from the Devonport Ferry Terminal.

Once here, step from the tranquil garden into our unique and luxuriously comfortable 12-seat cinema -utilizing the latest in modern cinema technology.

11.4 Dolby Atmos & DTS-X with 7000 watts of amplification. THX 13.4 reference sound, 4K anamorphic projection, plus the best in cinema French seats and atmospheric lighting, make The State  a completely unique cinema experience. Wall to wall Curved 150” CinemascopE Screen with all aspect ratios masked to 4:3, 16:9, 1.85, and 2.35 scope. All the films we screen are always presented in their original aspect ratios, that means no heads are cut off!
